difficult days-
the roadside fisherman hawks
yesterday’s catch

hollow moon
hollow moon
I cast my prayers
into your silver bowl
but you turn
and spill them
out among the stars
heartless orb
you know
my kneeling cries
are lost
among those sparkling
promises
almost child
the almost child
having lost its way
along with its potential
wandered
into unbidden places
and failed
to journey home
loss
There is such sadness in the air
it drifts through the hallways
and lingers at the doors
So fine this gray mist
We only glance at each other
for if I were to look
directly in your eyes
you would see the sadness
gather there
and spill slowly down my cheeks
little mother
sitting
in a green chair
the little mother
marks time
in half hours
